The Secret According To Jesus
...No One Is Left Behind
The Mystery
The Law of Attraction looks like a mystery because it says life is an inner experience. No matter what happens on the outside, your experience is always internal.
What happens to you is not as important as what happens inside you. And what happens inside is governed by your thoughts, feelings, memories, habits, external stimuli and your dreams.
To solve the mystery you must remember:
It's not what happened to you that matters, it's what you think happened to you.
One of the two great discoveries of life is thoughts become things and memories tend to return as experience. The mystery of how life changes, is obscured from view by your memories. This is a mystery because few look within for the answers to what they think, feel or experience. Attention is drawn outwards because you are compelled to consider the condition as the source of the thought that created your experience of the condition. Two people can look at the same object and have two different experiences depending on the emotions and memories stimulated by their point of focus.
Nobody remembers the facts of their history as much as they remember how an experience made them feel. Napoleon said history is a fable agreed upon. Emerson said there is no history, only biography. Jesus is reported to have said, "Those who love life lose it, but those who hate life in this world will preserve (and mistake) it for unending real life."
- John 12: 25
You preserve what you hate and you lose what you love? The main point to remember is that what you focus on you create. Life and love are not fixed assets, they are dynamic and creative expressions constantly changing as you grow and mature. Why do people, who hate their jobs, relationships or conditions, seem to live in an unending experience of disappointment and unhappiness? They're trying to preserve history. They're trying to keep something alive that should have changed a long time ago.
Jesus came from a family of carpenters, but there is no report that he used that trade to feed, cloth, or support himself. Instead, he ate the best food, stayed with the wealthiest people, road the Cadillac of the day, a donkey, and wore a seamless robe. He lived his life as a biography, letting each day be a new page in which he did his work, lived his life, and made his contribution. He lived by the Law of Attraction.
The Twinkling of an Eye
You have a life and it's ready to be lived. If you really want a more meaningful life you must learn to quiet your mind and allow the internal presence of God to guide your actions and transform your experience. Reality escapes most people because they are trapped in a trance, hypnotized by their conditions and circumstances.
Here's a difficult truth: you are always in your right place and nature is calling you to wake up. The moment you do, you will be transported to a world of goodness and plenty, all in the twinkling of an eye. But you must bring yourself to a place where confusion, trouble, problems, and misfortune are eclipsed by thoughts of "abundance, harmony, confidence, Life and Truth." This requires discipline and practice.
One way to suspend your disbelief is to put it on hold for a few weeks. Tell yourself that doubt and worry are no longer necessary in your thought process. If either rears its head inside your thoughts, turn and dismiss it immediately. Do not let worry or doubt take root. Instead, start your day with a period of quiet mediation and deliberate thought. In other words, INVOKE THE LAW OF ATTRACTION TO WORK BY GIVING IT SOMETHING TO WORK ON.
Since our thinking cannot be turned off we must direct it mentally to embody a new life. At first, this new life may seem like a dream, but insist your mind accept it as something already accomplished (at least for two-weeks). Let this way of thinking become your inner affirmation. Life is now rushing to fulfill your highest desire. Dismiss any doubt or temptation to question your desire or limit its full and complete manifestation. This is what we call in philosophy, creating a mental atmosphere. The mind cannot tell the difference between what you believe and what you perceive. If you keep looking at poverty, lack, unhappiness, or limitation, you will start to think about these things and manifest their experience.
You must turn away from these thoughts and images and immediately replace them with healthy, whole, complete ideas. This is an exercise designed to TRAIN YOUR MIND HOW TO THINK.
